Abstract gepubliseerd in Elsevier: For patients with intermediate- and high risk prostate cancer, treated with high dose radiotherapy, the CTV generally involves the prostate and (part of) the seminal vesicles (SV) [1,2]. Fiducial markers locate the prostate reliably during radiotherapy [3]. However the SV may move independent from the corpus of the prostate [4–6]. As this should be incorporated in the PTV margin [4,6–8], this may lead to a larger irradiated rectum volume and more gastro-intestinal toxicity [9]. Several studies have shown that rectal and bladder filling are of influence on prostate and SV mobility [10–13]. Using a dietary protocol or applying rectal gas removal could somewhat decrease the prostate and SV mobility [14,15], however, these methods are not very patient friendly. In this study we hypothesize that the vesicles become more rigidly attached to the prostate in case of tumour infiltration. This would imply that in case of extensive infiltration, the prostate and vesicles move as a rigid body and are thus adequately localized by marker-based Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT). The aim of this study was to assess the impact of tumour invasion in the SV on their mobility.

Gamma-band neuronal synchronization during sentence-level language comprehension has previously been linked with semantic unification. Here, we attempt to further narrow down the functional significance of gamma during language comprehension, by distinguishing between two aspects of semantic unification: successful integration of word meaning into the sentence context, and prediction of upcoming words. We computed eventrelated potentials (ERPs) and frequency band-specific electroencephalographic (EEG) power changes while participants read sentences that contained a critical word (CW) that was (1) both semantically congruent and predictable (high cloze, HC), (2) semantically congruent but unpredictable (low cloze, LC), or (3) semantically incongruent (and therefore also unpredictable; semantic violation, SV). The ERP analysis showed the expected parametric N400 modulation (HC < LC < SV). The time-frequency analysis showed qualitatively different results. In the gamma-frequency range, we observed a power increase in response to the CW in the HC condition, but not in the LC and the SV conditions. Additionally, in the theta frequency range we observed a power increase in the SV condition only. Our data provide evidence that gamma power increases are related to the predictability of an upcoming word based on the preceding sentence context, rather than to the integration of the incoming word's semantics into the preceding context. Further, our theta band data are compatible with the notion that theta band synchronization in sentence comprehension might be related to the detection of an error in the language input.

In January 2020, Greece, the Republic of Cyprus and Israel signed an agreement to construct the EastMed pipeline, a 1900-kilometer undersea pipeline designed to transport gas from the offshore deposits in the Leviathan field of the southeastern Mediterranean to continental Europe. Designed as Project of Common Interest (PCI) by European Commission since 2013, this pipeline aims to diversify the EU’s energy source, potentially reducing reliance on Russian gas. While progress had stalled, the Russian invasion of Ukraine reignited hopes for its construction. Nonetheless, the United States raised doubts about its viability and distanced itself from what it reportedly labeled a “contentious energy scheme”. Our report aims to assess the prospects of the EastMed pipeline, drawing insights from the energy security scenario analysis by the World Energy Council, Shell, and the Clingendael Institute. Beginning with background information on the project’s geological aspects, EU-driven regulatory framework, key stakeholders, and estimated costs, we’ll craft scenarios around three central storylines: 1) Market and Institutions, focusing on stable geopolitics and regional cooperation, 2) Regions and Empires, emphasizing Geopolitical Tensions, and, 3) Environmental Challenges.
