This publication shows how the interaction between knowledge production and art production can stimulate an art academy in its development. In the reflexive zone, the 'academisation' of art education is studied. Research can be dividied into three areas: research as the bridge between theory and practice, reflection within the creative process, and cultural issues as a sub-collection of theory and practice.
