Alexander Grit is an international academic leader with a strong strategic focus, who has an excellent track record of bringing organizations and people to a higher level. He is a goal-oriented team player with strong communication skills, who is actively and personally involved in obtaining excellence for himself and his team. He has held a number of higher management positions in (international) academic organisations, particularly focused on hospitality, tourism and business management studies. In these positions, he initiates and creates movements and implements ideas.
He has extensive analytical and conceptual skills and up-to-date knowledge of educational Dutch laws and regulations, with national and international accreditation requirements. Alexander Grit has been a manager, teacher and researcher in the field of hospitality. He is connected to several international universities and has worked at Stenden University since 2007. He has contributed to several books as an author and editor and more than a dozen articles in research journals and conference reports. He is emeritus-editor of the journal Research in Hospitality Management and reviewer for the journals Society and Hospitality and Annals of Tourism Research. Grit has collaborated intensively with the business world as a commercial researcher and advisor. He has also developed and implemented in-company management programmes. Grit holds a PhD in Hospitality Management Studies. His practical interest and scholarship focus on sustainable innovation of hospitality spaces.
