Puspita Permatasari

Puspita Ayu Permatasari is of Indonesian origin. She focuses on the use of ICT in the safeguarding and valorisation of intangible cultural heritage (living heritage) within the landscape of cultural heritage sites preservation, creative sector, and tourism. She is involved in different scientific projects and publications on several topics such as participatory design, user requirement elicitation (URE), user experience (UX), online presence of website and mobile apps, experience design, design thinking, mixed realities (AR/VR), cultural route and heritage tourism, digital heritage including storytelling, digital learning on art and culture, as well as digital communication on fashion heritage and creative industry. She is experienced in teaching and developing courses materials on intercultural communication in tourism, tourism marketing, destination branding, creative economy, community empowerment, as well as cultural diplomacy. She develops research interest in urban tourism, digital experience on cultural tourism, fashion, and creative cities. 

She holds a doctoral degree in information and communication technology (ICT) in the field of intangible cultural heritage and tourism at the USI-Università della Svizzera italiana, Switzerland. She obtained a master degree in World Cultural/Natural Heritage Management and Tourism at IREST Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, France, and a bachelor degree in Chinese Literature at the University of Indonesia. She is a certified interpreter in Indonesian Translator Association on English/Indonesian/Mandarin language and developed her career as tourism expert and cultural diplomacy consultant at Ministry of Tourism in Indonesia and at the Indonesian Representative Office at UNESCO Paris, France. In 2016, She worked on a European Erasmus project and Switzerland on mapping the online presence of 175 World Heritage Sites in East, South, and Southeast Asia. During her PhD, she served as research coordinator and managed developer team to create iWareBatik digital technologies to promote Indonesian Batik as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage 2009 at USI UNESCO Chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites, Switzerland.
